Job Description
Position: Cloud Architect - Pre-employment position
Location : San Sebastian - Espagne
Supervisor: Global Datacenter and Hosting Manager
Purpose :
The Cloud Architect is responsible for reviewing, optimizing, and evolving the company's Azure-based cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments. This role will ensure architecture scalability, cost-efficiency, automation, and resilience, supporting both current operations and new industrial workloads under the upcoming digital transformation programs.
Areas of responsibility
Architecture & Design
Review inherited Azure architecture from N and adapt it for future scalability and independence.
Design solutions aligned with Microsoft best practices to support industrial and enterprise workloads.
Define and implement architecture standards for Azure Cloud and Azure Stack HCI environments.
Assess, design, and execute cloud migration strategies (e.g., file servers, oXya-hosted VMs) to modern platforms.
Implement Landing Zones and IaC-based provisioning for Azure Cloud and on-prem HCI.
Automation, Security & Governance
Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and Azure CLI.
Build reusable deployment templates and enforce compliance with governance policies.
Define FinOps processes for Azure resource usage, monitoring, and cost optimization.
Strengthen cloud security posture by leveraging tools like Microsoft Defender, Azure Policy, and Azure Monitor.
Operational Excellence
Lead backup and disaster recovery strategy implementation for Azure workloads.
Provide L3 support and collaborate with DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure continuity.
Define cloud observability architecture and build proactive alerting dashboards.
Contribute to automation of deployment pipelines and orchestrated updates across hybrid infrastructure.

Required skills and qualifications
5–8 years of experience in cloud architecture, preferably Azure-focused hybrid environments.
Strong knowledge of Azure Cloud, Azure Stack HCI, Microsoft 365, and Azure DevOps.
Hands-on experience with IaC (Terraform, ARM), scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI), and Kubernetes.
Proven ability to define cloud governance, security, and cost optimization processes.
Familiarity with virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware), monitoring tools, and Microsoft Defender.
Ability to lead architecture reviews, develop standards, and guide technical decision-making.
Strong communication and documentation skills, fluent in English.
